As a Management Intern, I acquired highly marketable skills and experience pertaining to every aspect of running a successful business. I discovered that every day is different because it is filled with so many new, exciting, rewarding and often unexpected challenges. There is one consistent aspect, however - everyday, I learned more about sales/marketing, customer service, business management, and administrative skills. Duties included handling telephone and walk-in inquiries, quoting rates and making reservations in the computer, customer pick-up and return, developing working knowledge of automobile industry as it relates to the replacement rental car market, opening rental contracts, closing rental contracts and check in returned vehicles, learning balance and deposit procedures, preparing vehicles for pre-renal cleanliness and maintenance, contact clients for billing information and contract extensions, selling various products, learning effective customer dispute resolutions to enhance overall customer experience and developing an understanding of the Car Sales division and sending in leads for customers interested in purchasing used cars.
